From the prestigious F.A, F.Sc. programs designed to nurture intellects of tomorrow’s leaders, to the dynamic ICS and I.Com courses crafted to equip students with the skills and knowledge both in 1st and 2nd shifts, encompass a spectrum of educational opportunities.

History
Govt. Graduate College for Women Samanabad stands as a venerable bastion of education in Lahore, tracing its origins back to the distant annals of 1957. From its humble beginnings as an Intermediate College nestled in the heart of Gulberg, it has evolved into a towering beacon of learning and empowerment.
In a monumental move that underscored its commitment to excellence, the institution relocated to the vibrant locale of Samanabad in 1969. It was bestowed with the esteemed status of a graduate-level institution in 1971, cementing its reputation as a pioneer in women’s education.
Through the decades, our college has remained steadfast in its dedication to fostering intellectual curiosity, nurturing talent, and empowering women. This institution was then elevated to Post-Graduate level in 2008 with the commencement of M.A English classes which were later on replaced by the four years B.S program in 2010. In the year 2015, the college also introduced BBA and B.Com: 4 years degree programme and B.Ed: 2 year degree programme. Nestled within the sprawling expanse of 12 acres, our premises stand as a testament to our enduring commitment to knowledge and progress.
Under the visionary stewardship of Principal Prof. Dr. Arifa Zareen, alongside a dedicated and competent college administration and faculty members, our institution has catapulted forward with unparalleled vigor and determination. Guided by a shared vision of academic brilliance and innovation, we march forward, achieving milestones and breaking barriers with each passing day.
To facilitate more students, the 2nd shift intermediate classes were commenced in 2004. Within the hallowed grounds of our campus, 132 spacious and luxuriously furnished classrooms stand as bastions of learning, providing a nurturing environment for intellectual growth and exploration. Our laboratories, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, serve as crucibles of innovation and discovery. From cutting-edge scientific equipment to advanced technological resources, our labs are veritable hubs of experimentation and learning, empowering students to delve into the depths of their chosen fields with confidence and curiosity.
